Why Did Humans Reinvent Artificial Intelligence?
Distant technologies arise again, pointing back to mind and soul.
Hello everyone. Dr. Thom here. Thank you for being patient. I’ve been rethinking the theme for Rx for the Planet for the last half of 2025. So many changes as the forces of re-evolution begin to culminate. All of us may feel the impact of times meant to test us and help us grow into the next dimension of time and space.
In my case, I feel drawn to focus more on the education of youth worldwide. Those 1.3 billion young people come to us with vast talents, disruptive minds, and a mission to change our planet. Supporting and guiding them is the key to our future.
Please join me as a subscriber and supporter if this mission appeals to you.
Just as a reminder: I draw my writing from the truth that you and I aren’t evolving from an accidental past. Humans are returning to their roots in the stars. I call this re-evolution.
Embrace that truth and you can feel the next dimension of consciousness beckon. You begin to sense the secrets of human purpose and the power of an intelligent universe.
Another truth to acknowledge? Your journey is guided and supported. A vast array of star-based ‘cousins’ who form a galactic community await reunion with Earth. They listen for your call. They help write this newsletter.
And who am I? Find out here.
Act kind,
Dr. Thom
I remember one student in my high school classes who sat like a lump every period. His eyes stayed vacant. His shoulders stayed hunched.
I had tried to connect, but with very little response. I knew he despised school. One day I opened a new line of questioning.
“What do you do well in life?” I asked him.
My question was sincere. It had worked with many students in the past. This day, not so much.
“Nothing,” he shrugged.
I persisted. “Okay, “ I said, “How do you spend your time outside of school?”
Slight pause. Some movement of the shoulders. He actually looked at me.
“Well, I’m an Eagle Scout.”
I never made it past a year of Cub Scouts and wasn’t familiar with the Boy Scouts of America, so I wasn’t sure of the requirements. But I knew enough to let go immediately of any ‘lump’ stereotypes. I did some research later. Here is what he accomplished:
To become an Eagle Scout, a Scout must be a Life Scout for at least six months, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, hold a leadership position within their troop for at least six months, and complete a significant community service project. They also need to demonstrate Scout Spirit by living the Scout Oath and Law.
I know there’s been some criticism of the Boy Scouts. I don’t care. This boy knew something. That was my message back to him. “Wow, you know a lot! I’d be very proud of yourself if I were you,” I told him with a big (and genuine) smile.
Then I added, “I never made it past Cub Scouts. You know a lot more than I do.”
That’s when his shoulders rose about a foot.
In 1995, I began a book titled ‘Educating the Spirit.’ At that time, conversations with students like the Eagle Scout and many others alerted me that children were different. They refused to fit in boxes.
During that time, it was popular in metaphysical circles to speak about indigo children, or star babies. Special souls, it was said, were being born onto Earth to guide the next stage of planetary evolution, bringing with them intense and disruptive energies designed to reawaken memories and force humans to reexamine our powers of the mind.
I predicted they would eventually disrupt the institution of school until it was unrecognizable. But I couldn’t imagine the blunt force required for dismantling a model of learning deeply reliant on the machinery of the brain rather than the infiniteness of the mind.
Not knowing enough back then, I never finished the book. Instead, I returned to school and earned a PhD in Psychology, thinking I would gather more insights into how the new children would succeed.
In fairness, I learned a lot, but not about how the shift would occur. After I submitted one paper about quantum intelligence, evidence for the mind, and the deep history of metaphysics, my dissertation professor made a note in the margin, “Fascinating, but I don’t understand a word of it.”
My personal history won’t matter a bit now. Rediscovering the mind is part of the design of planetary re-evolution, an inevitable outcome when accelerated energies full of new data ignite every cell in our body, reshuffle DNA and inform us of our deep connection to Nature and an intelligent universe founded on expanding consciousness.
And more. Every child born today qualifies as an indigo and star baby. Birthed through a window of higher frequencies, their minds work faster, their history is different, and often their interplanetary experience exceeds adults.
And now the blunt force necessary to shift their learning is in their hands. It’s called artificial intelligence.
Before probing the massive disruption ahead, I will note that our methods for teaching children leave us wildly out of step with the universe. Every Messenger who guides us puts the soul at the center of learning. To grow the soul, the education of the young focuses on building the creative capacities of the mind through conscious connection to light and love energies in the broader universe.
Think of the contrast with earthly systems. We follow a machine paradigm, with a system of learning traced back to a Scientific Revolution that proclaims life to be an accidental event. Humans operate as highly evolved animals limited to biochemicals and the rules of biology to explain how they function—and how they learn.
The machine paradigm leaves intact the most formidable barrier to meeting the standards of the universe: Our obsession with the brain. Every thought and emotion is traced to neural activity, biochemical interaction, and mechanistic cosplay between brain modules. All intelligence must flow from physical neurons.
This obsession drives schools. I call it the regime of the cognitive hypothesis.
How does a regime fall? That question is already upon us. In future posts, I’ll describe the terror that AI strikes in the heart of many schools and educators. Schools exist to teach young people to think (though in practice, it’s poorly done). With AI, students can cheat their way through school, avoid thinking, and let Chat GPT do the work. That’s a civilization-ending scenario for most teachers.
But that’s exactly what’s necessary to wake us from slumber. Schools must transform to begin alignment with the universe, and AI will force a choice. Either humans work out a technology of the mind to surpass machine technology or succumb to being second best, commanded by robots and consigned to repetitive digital thinking done better and faster by a computer than a human brain.
Ultimately, AI will force us to confront our limited views on learning and the brain. We’re terrified that machines are more intelligent than humans. We’ve convinced ourselves that we’re limited biochemical beings.
That’s predictable, but only a sliver of the story. That’s why it’s timely to return to the core message of my failed book on Educating the Spirit.
But it’s time to upgrade. Born though a window of accelerated vibrations and resonating to a holistic future, all young people, in their own way, are neurodiverse, imaginative, and creative. Their soul history is at odds with life limited to the brain. They’re more than ready for a better tool for learning.
With AI in their hands, on their phones, and wearable, their invention will astound us. As young people apply their deep memory to accessing advanced AI tools, the door opens to the mind, pointing us back to the stars and exploring territory far beyond the physical limitations of the human brain.
In time, the ending of the cycle will be obvious. Freed of neurons, the capabilities of consciousness to roam time and space will be apparent. The distant past will be released from cellular memory. As the re-union of mind and body proceeds, lost powers will surface.
This is Earth’s destiny, led by souls with memories necessary for planetary survival.
That’s why we should not be surprised or shocked by artificial intelligence. All of us carry distant memories of former technologies.
But there’s more to this moment of awakening than the ancientness of the human mind. , when souls easily interlocked with knowledge both earthly and star-born. It’s more mysterious than we imagine. As the mind is freed, the soul will be rediscovered. As the soul rises, love entwines.
It’s a connected whole. We’ve reinvented artificial intelligence to put us on a fast track back to an intelligent universe. Let’s use our gift wisely.

Thom, thank you for this powerful and thought-provoking piece.
Every time I read your articles, I feel a deep resonance—not just with the ideas you share, but with the intention and heart behind them. I truly love seeing your articles come through. The way you begin with stories is so grounding; it immediately draws me in and opens my mind to deeper questions. They help me pause, reflect, and get curious about what’s underneath and what’s next.
This particular reflection on the evolution of learning, the role of AI, and the spiritual journey of today's youth touched me deeply. It validated many quiet intuitions I’ve carried, especially around the idea that our children are arriving with wisdom we’re only beginning to understand—and that AI may be the very catalyst that awakens something ancient in us.
Thank you for continuing to be a guide in this unfolding conversation. Please keep sharing. Your voice matters now more than ever.
As AI takes over many jobs, what will we do with our freedom? There is so much to contemplate. Thank you for your deep thinking and writing.
